World Book Day 3rd March

St Felix celebrated World Book Day by asking pupils to bring in the books which are part of their bedtime routine. One Y6 pupil remarked "I read when my parents don't tell me to but not when they do!" This illustrates how important it is to develop children's reading for pleasure.

Mrs Hands led the day with a fully interactive assembly which celebrated the different ways to read books together. Children had the chance to work in their classrooms using the books they had brought in. Activities ranged from making book trailers in Year 6, through mini book looks in Y3/4 to book sharing in KS1. All of these introduced pupils to new books through recommendation which is the premise behind our book chains in school.

It was a fun day with lots of new books discovered.
