Sports Day 2025

What a beautiful day in the sun! St Felix Annual Sports Day and Picnic was a great success.

The children arrived at school in their PE kits, the parents gathered in anticipation and the sun shone.  The HSA provided drinks for the waiting crowd before the children filed out onto the playground to begin the day. As usual, the school shared a prayer together:

Father,

Thanks for giving me life; and talents for my participation in sports. Help me to play well, to use my powers to the full, to see them as gifts from you. Be with me when I have to deal with the pain of disappointment. When I smile, I do so to show how much I know you love me, Lord, and I want to show you how much I do today for you.

Amen

Mrs Dodds reminded the pupils to play well, be kind to others and, most importantly, have fun - and they did.

Throughout the morning there were lots of happy children taking part in a well-planned series of activities. There were even some super-keen dads in Y2 who showed amazing talents with the vortex. The school had the added support of Mr Holder as well as Zoe and Joe as sports leaders. The weather was great, but the breeze across the field was much appreciated.

It was lovely to hear all the positive encouragement from the parents and the children responded by trying their very best.

The final outcome was a win for St Elizabeth House with a total score of 1702. Daria proudly accepted the trophy on behalf of her house.

Then it was picnic time and the school community shared their lunch together. Father John joined in and there was lots of delicious food on display. Mrs Dodds had a lovely surprise from our Kerala community and got quite tearful at the beautiful speeches given by Isabel, Liya, Varsha, Alan and Anselmo.

A fabulous day to be part of St Felix
