The primary aims of the festival are to promote the study of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics in schools; boost the educational aspirations of local students in Haverhill and promote training opportunities in high-tech industry. 

Every school in Haverhill is taking part, and we are extremely excited that Helen Sharman CMG OBE, the first British astronaut, and renowned scientist Professor Lord Robert Winston are joining us to make it a very high-profile week for the town.

On Christmas Eve, people exchange books as presents. They open their books straight away and then spend Christmas Eve reading in front of the fire, eating chocolate or drinking hot chocolate!
