PE and Sport Funding

To impact on the attainment and progress of pupils and offer sustained improvement in the provision of PE at St Felix RC Primary School, we are spending the government funding as follows:

2018-19

Allocation of Sports Premium Grant 2018-2019

Extra-Curricular Sports Clubs

  • Increased participation in a range of after school sports clubs – 100 places being filled each week during the Autumn term
  • 60% increase in Y5/6 multi-skills participation during the Autumn term
  • Y5/6 football club full all year and currently 3rd in the school’s league
  • All extra-curricular sport contributing to desired ’60 active minutes’ (chang4life)

Resources

  • Quality of P.E lessons increased due to resources purchased
  • Improved physical activities for outdoor area (EYFS)

This year the profile of P.E across the school has been raised and we are working towards achieving the school games mark.  The School Games Mark is a government led awards scheme launched to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. The following areas will be monitored:

  • Participation – how many young people are being engaged in sporting activity?
  • Competition – how many different sports are being played and how many competitions are being entered?
  • Workforce – how many pupils are involved in leadership activities alongside taking part in competitions?
  • Clubs – how many local links does your school have with clubs or establishments from the area?

Achieving and maintaining this award will keep P.E a priority at St Felix School.

Variety of extra-curricular sports have complemented the PE curriculum. These have enabled pupils to develop a variety of gross motor skills and enjoyment of new sports.
